Tanzania Clubfoot Care Organization (TCCO) is a non-profit and non-governmental Organization which has been initiated and established by committed people as a health systems intervention strategy for clubfoot treatment using the Ponseti Method.
The Organization emphasizes on using Ponseti Method (PM) because it is the international accepted gold standard non-surgical treatment for clubfoot to both young and older children and has been scientifically proven to achieve the best clinical results. It is minimally invasive, leads to fewer complications and is cost effective.
Ponseti manipulation and casting will even make surgery (if necessary) much easier and minimize complications.
The Organization is registered under the Non Governmental Organizations Act, No. 24 of 2002
TCCO is constituted by regional groups(zones) from each region in Tanzania Mainland with the mission to provide treatment and care to clubfoot children in the country.
The network meet annually in the National Conference where they report their activities and do future planning.
The network has formed task groups responsible for advocacy of certain tasks, also to let people know about TCCO and its mission.
The Network works with the community by providing awareness through training to parents with clubfoot children and partner with health care facilities in their localities to provide clinics services to the targeted group using Ponseti Model.
TCCO is partnering with Miraclefeet and provide support to eleven (11) clinics in the Mwanza, Kagera, Shinyanga,Mara,Arusha,Mbeya and Iringa regions.
